A mournful melancholy

The mournful chorus breaks the stillness.  I glance out my window and a flock of geese fly overhead, parallel to the flow of the water.

I live in a village nestled on the banks of the Battenkill River and every fall  battalions of Canadian geese use it as a pit stop on their yearly trek south.

This sad sound reaches into me and tugs out a feeling of melancholy.  Funny how it soothes  and makes me feel that everything is right in the world… this is wabi-sabi.
